September 2026 Work Crews... Volunteers Needed

HILPA is looking for volunteers to join our upcoming work crews on Lighthouse Island in September 2026.

These work days are an important part of HILPA's ongoing efforts to preserve the historic Huron Island Light Station and care for the buildings, grounds, and surrounding landscape. From maintaining the grounds to helping with preservation projects, every volunteer helps us protect this special place for future generations.

Upcoming Work Crew Dates September 2026:
Thursday, September 10; Alternate Date: Friday, September 11

IMPORTANT: ALL WORK CREW DATES ARE WEATHER PERMITTING

Because travel to the island is by boat and conditions on Lake Superior can change quickly, all work crew dates are weather permitting. Final transportation and meeting details will be provided to volunteers as plans are confirmed.

Volunteers will meet at a designated location before traveling by boat to Lighthouse Island. This will be a full day on the island, so please come prepared with: plenty of water; lunch; appropriate clothing and footwear for outdoor work; any additional personal items you may need for a full day outdoors.
