Lead-based paint removal and new paint on the Assistant Keeper's house The USFWS funded lead-based paint remediation and repainting of the wooden Assistant Keeper's house. This building stands very near the stone lighthouse. Other repairs still need to be done to this structure, but the new paint job is certainly a great step.

The contractors were able to stay on the island for many days to complete the job. They safely removed the old lead paint, scraped and repaired rotten areas, and repainted the entire exterior.

On a clear day, the bright while house can be seen on the island from Point Abbaye.

The Fog Signal building at the north end of Lighthouse Island had a leaky roof with many holes in it.

The soffit and facia also needed repair.

HILPA hired a local contractor to replace the roof do any other repairs necessary.

All this work was paid for by donors' generous contributions to HILPA.
